Picking the perfect shade of grey, beige, taupe, greige (Greige = Grey + Beige) or any other neutral shade other than white for the walls in your home can be a challenge. It's all very well looking at a tiny square of paint colour from a decorating store, but trying to envisage that shade on your walls isn't the easiest thing to do.

'Rocky Shelter' by Valspar is a great example of a not too dark shade of grey that works on all four walls - this is the perfect base colour to build your different layers and tones within the room through your furniture.
For a feature wall in your living room try using this darker shade of greige...
This is a wonderfully bold shade, called 'Traveler's Pack' by Valspar, that you can use on just one wall to make a statement.
It is also a great base colour for hanging photographs or paintings on.
Pick a beige accent to lighten up your darker shades within your living room, like this cosy cream...
'Marshmallow Cocoa' by Valspar is a lovely accent colour that can be used with a deep navy blue or a darker greige like the one above.
Use this in your living room to keep things cosy and warm.
Another accent colour to use is a light grey, ideal for bathrooms or for pairing with deep dark greys.
'Modern Grey' by Valspar will sit beautifully with a deeper grey like the one below or work perfectly on it's own on all four walls for a lighter look.
When you choose a deep, dark grey it makes a statement and can also double as a chalkboard wall for the kids (and big kids!).
