If you like to get creative with your home decor and you just LOVE rearranging your furniture to find the optimum layout for each room in your house; then we are sure you will love these living room layouts we have created to inspire you to discover what will work best for you and your family.
Before you begin moving your furniture, which can be heavy and time consuming, we recommend downloading an app to your phone, that Elm & Blue have fallen in love with, called Magicplan.
The Magicplan app will allow you to enter your exact room and furniture dimensions to allow you play around with different locations for your sofas, beds, plants, tables, chairs and any other furniture you have in your home.
Take a look at 7 different living room layouts that we have created, using this app, to give you a little inspiration before you get started:
This living room design is ideal for those who like lots of sofa space for their family and friends and also like to keep cosy with their fireplace.
The fireplace is the focal point of this room, with the television to the left of the fireplace. If you wanted, you could always hang your T.V. above the fire to give more floor space and make the T.V. more central.
If your living room is all about socialising with your friends, then this next layout is the one for you.
Having your sofas facing each other is ideal for the modern socialite; this is great for afternoon tea with friends and sharing pizzas in the evening.
If you are looking to create a cosy reading corner with an armchair and footstool next to your bookcase, then take a look at this design:
Having a lamp behind your reading chair is the best way to give extra light when you are relaxing and reading in the evening.
This floorpan is great for those who don't require too much sofa space.
We love a cosy sofa with a chaise end to it. This is ideal for movie night and putting your feet up.
This next design is again quiet a social layout, but with some beautiful large French doors leading into the room.
When you use single armchairs in your room it is a nice way to add extra seating for those that like their own personal space to get comfortable.
If the television is your focal point and you like to maximise on seating space, then take a look at this floorpan layout.
This corner sofa with a chaise on the end is a fantastic way to create the ultimate comfy area for lots of people.
This is ideal for larger families with lots of little ones!
For a more formal layout with lots of seating, try adding a large circular rug to the centre of your room to make it feel bigger whilst including lots of furniture.
This last layout here is our favourite as we love the formality of the sofa layout mixed with the large amount of room in the centre for having little ones playing on the rug.
You will notice that in each of our layouts we like to use floor plants; these are a great way to bring nature into your room for colour and grounding. They also have the ability to clean the air making the room a healthier place to be.
