If you are lucky enough to be passing through the small, but beautiful village of Abbeyleix in Southern Ireland, then you absolutely must take time to stay at the Sandymount House B&B.
It is nestled in the Irish countryside, in the most wondrous setting, surrounded by trees, greenery, fresh air and the beauty of nature.
Although our stay at this quaint Irish Manor House was short, it was an absolute delight to find.
The staff were more than accommodating; they would go out of their way to make you feel at home, and the location and room couldn't have been nicer.
Upon arrival you are greeted by the well presented garden leading up to the pillared entrance.
Inside is just as beautiful and spacious, with two chairs placed either side of a grand fireplace in the entrance and just beyond it can be found the stepped staircase leading up to the bedrooms.
The surprises don't stop there as once you enter your room, your heart is immediately warmed by the most beautiful and elegant decor with a hint of old fashioned charm.
We were asked to let them know what time we would like breakfast in the morning so they could be ready for us and then left to our own devices.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was well equipped and clean.
After arriving very late in the evening, we were straight to bed and upon waking in the morning were able to appreciate the setting of this beautiful home.
Everything from the chair next to the window, overlooking the grounds to the red radio playing in the breakfast room. This place was something special and enjoyable on every level.
Each corner of this B&B has been tastefully decorated and makes you feel right at home.
We only wish we could have stayed here a few more nights to explore a bit more.
We will certainly remember this place and if we are lucky enough to be passing again, it will be on our list of places to stay.
Where have you stayed recently that you would like to return to or you can highly recommend?
