1. Eco Toilet Cleaner


  • 5-7 drops essential oils
  • 1tbsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 240ml white vinegar

METHOD: Sprinkle the bicarbonate of soda and essential oils into the toilet. Use a toilet brush to scrub this into all areas of your toilet bowl. Pour in white vinegar and scrub as needed. Let rest for a while or flush as needed. Try using lemon essential oils for a fresh smell.

2. All Purpose Spray


  • 3-4 drops essential oil
  • 300ml water
  • 120ml white vinegar
  • 1tsp liquid soap

METHOD: Combine all ingredients into an empty spray bottle large enough for around 450ml. Use around your home on all surfaces. Spray onto surface and wipe with a clean cloth. Try using lavender or orange essential oil for this recipe.

3. Fresh Carpet Cleaner


  • 10-15 drops essential oils
  • 130g bicarbonate of soda

METHOD: Combine the ingredients and let them rest over night. Sprinkle them over your carpet or upholstery and leave for a s long as possible to freshen and neutralise any odours. Vacuum. Try using lemon or orange essential oil for this one.

4. Stain Busting Fizz


  • 1tbsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 50ml white vinegar

METHOD: Sprinkle the bicarbonate of some over any tough, baked in stains and then spritz the white vinegar over the top to let the mixture effervesces and get to work on the tough stains.

5. Home Scent Spray


  • 1-2 drops essential oils
  • 120ml water

METHOD: Add the essential oils and water to an empty spray bottle and spray around the home to freshen the air. You can use this on surfaces that need sprucing up by spraying and wiping clean with a cloth. A great essential oil to use for this is lavender.

6. Scrubbing Paste


  • 3-4 drops essential oils
  • 300g bicarbonate of soda
  • 1tbsp white vinegar
  • 50ml liquid soap
  • sprinkling of water as needed

METHOD: Combine all ingredients and add water if the mixture is too thick. Store in an airtight container. poly to any areas that need particular attention such as bathroom grout or around your cooker. Scrub and then rinse well.
